A quiz that is fair everywhere

Science works the same in every country: the Sun is a star, a spider has eight legs and water boils at 100 °C. That makes science and nature the fairest quiz there is, whether you play from Hanoi, São Paulo, Istanbul or Berlin. How many hearts does an octopus have? Which planet is the largest? What is the chemical symbol for gold? Your friend gets exactly the same ten questions.

The questions come from a bank of almost 900, written for every topic and checked for one clear right answer, then translated into all the languages of the site. Some show a picture: which animal is this? Others ask for a chemical symbol. Every quiz mixes the topics, so nobody wins just because they love one subject.

How to play Science & Nature Quiz

Pick a level and send the link

Easy, mixed or hard, and surprise questions or the quiz of the day. You can play first and send the beatme.link link as a target, or send it right away.

Twenty seconds per question

Tap Start and the first question appears with four answers. Pick one before the bar runs out. The clock runs on our server, so there’s no time to look it up.

See the right answer

After each answer the right one lights up green, and the next question follows. The questions get a little harder towards the end.

Compare your answers

When you’re both done, more right answers wins. With the same score, the faster total time wins. Then go through all ten questions side by side.

What the questions are about

  • Space: the Sun, the planets, the Moon, stars, comets and galaxies.
  • Animals: mammals, birds, reptiles, insects and sea life, records and surprising facts, and pictures to recognise.
  • The human body: organs, bones, blood, senses and teeth.
  • Plants and nature: photosynthesis, flowers and seeds, trees, fungi and food chains.
  • The Earth: volcanoes, earthquakes, rocks, weather, clouds and the water cycle.
  • Chemistry and physics: elements and their symbols, solids, liquids and gases, light, sound, electricity, magnets and forces.

Three levels

Easy sticks to what most people learned at school, with animal pictures. Mixed starts easy and ends with a couple of hard ones. Hard is for science fans: chemical symbols, tricky body facts and space questions. At most three questions come from one topic, so every quiz is a real mix.

Fair for both players

Both players get the same questions in the same order with the same answers. A question only reaches your page when you open it, and its right answer only after you’ve answered, so nobody can peek. Your friend’s answers stay hidden until you’ve answered the same question yourself.
