A table of face-down blue cards with a few turned over: two matching hearts, a star and a moon

The classic pairs game, played with a link

Everybody knows the memory card game: all cards lie face down, you turn over two, and if they show the same picture you keep the pair. If not, they go back face down, and the trick is to remember where everything was. Memory Match brings that classic to your phone, made for two.

Play it the classic way, taking turns on one table: find a pair and you go again, miss and it is your friend’s turn, and whoever ends up with more pairs wins. Or race: you both get exactly the same layout, each on your own table, and whoever clears it in fewer tries wins. Send the link and play live, or let your friend take their turn whenever they have a minute.

How to play Memory Match

Pick a mode and a level

Take turns on one table, or race on the same cards. Then choose easy, medium or hard and send the beatme.link link.

Flip two cards

Tap a card to turn it over, then tap a second one. The same picture? The pair is yours, and in turns mode you go again.

Remember the misses

When two cards don’t match they stay visible until the next flip. Everybody sees them, so watch your friend’s turns too.

Win the table

Taking turns: more pairs wins. Racing: fewer tries wins, and the same number of tries goes to the faster player.

Three levels, three kinds of cards

  • Easy: 12 colourful cards. Six pictures that differ in shape and colour: a red heart, a yellow star, a blue moon. Great for kids and a quick round.
  • Medium: 20 cards in one colour. Ten pictures drawn in black ink only, so colour no longer helps. You have to remember the shapes.
  • Hard: 30 look-alike cards. Circles, squares and triangles in five colours. A blue circle is not a blue square, and a pink triangle is not a red one. A real test.

Tips for a better memory

  • Say it in your head. “Moon, top left” sticks better than a picture alone.
  • Start at the edges. Corners and edges are easier to remember than cards in the middle.
  • Flip a known card first. If you remember where one half of a pair is, open an unknown card first, then decide.
  • Watch your friend. In turns mode every miss shows you two more cards for free.

Fair for both of you

The cards are shuffled on our server, and a card’s picture only reaches the page once it is face up. Nobody can peek at the layout, not even by looking at the page code. In a race you see only how many pairs your friend has found, never where, until you have finished yourself.

Memory Match FAQ

Can I play a memory game with a friend online for free?

Yes. Start a game on this page, send the link, and your friend plays in their browser. Free, no app and no account.

What is the difference between taking turns and racing?

Taking turns is the classic: one table, you go again after every pair, and more pairs wins. In a race you both get the same layout on your own table, and fewer tries wins.

Is it good for kids?

Very. The easy level has big, colourful pictures and only 12 cards. Children often beat adults at memory games, so expect to lose.

Do we have to play at the same time?

No. Play live, or take your turn whenever you like. The link stays open 48 hours after the last move.

Who wins if we find the same number of pairs?

Taking turns, the same number of pairs is a draw. In a race, the same number of tries goes to whoever was faster.
